Sophie had the good fortune to be born cute and pretty and she’s lived off those qualities ever since she was in nappies. Apart from her dancing – which she really does put some effort into – Sophie has no real ambition to do or be anything other than a pampered little doll who goes to parties and gets her photo in the social pages. One of the great things about hanging out with Chelsea is that she doesn’t have to think for herself ; Chelsea always has an idea – even if it’s not a particularly pleasant one. Even more than that though is the fact that Chelsea’s family has buckets of money which Chelsea is quite happy to share around – provided you do exactly what she wants. And Sophie’s always willing to do what Chelsea wants.

Her Character:
15-year-old Carla is a very able and intelligent girl – with a photographic memory no less! She’s a good dancer and quite pretty and you’d think she’d have plenty going for her but she has one big problem – she lacks confidence in herself.
So when big, bold, super confident and larger than life Chelsea comes along, Carla iseasily swept up in her net and proves a more than willing Hand Maiden to the Queen of Mean. And while she sometimes resents Chelsea’s egocentricity and air of superiority, at least she has someone to hang out with and – when the going gets tough – someone to hide behind.

Her Character:
Chelsea is the ultimate, manipulative teen queen. Indulged and spoiled by her parents, Chelsea has never encountered the word ‘No in her life. As far as Chelsea is concerned, the world exists in order to serve her needs and her needs are whatever happens to strike her on the day. She can be extremely charming, flattering and nice if the occasion suits – or she can regress to straightforward bullying and abuse if that’s what it takes to get her way.

Highly intelligent, pretty and a very capable dancer, Chelsea doesn’t have any real friends because she doesn’t need them – she only wants admirers and in Carla and Sophie, she has the perfect handmaidens.

Real Name: Sam Fraser (Damon)

His Character:
Damon is Ally’s younger brother and – like many younger brothers – he’s always ready to torpedo his sister at any available opportunity. He has a vivid imagination and a great deal of curiosity [which makes him quite a danger when the Chatroom gets up and running.] While Ally generally regards him as extremely annoying, she also knows that Damon’s no fool so she has to handle him carefully or he’ll make life hard for her. ‘Mischief’ is Damon’s middle name.

Real Name: Luke Erceg (Dan)

His Character:
Dan is a sixteen year old, hard working, generous boy with a great enthusiasm for horses. During Ally’s time away in Singapore he’s helped out at the riding school run by Ally’s parents. When Ally returns to Australia she’s a bit jealous of Dan – and how he’s taken over all the tasks that she used to perform. This creates tension between the two – all of it coming from Ally’s direction. But as Ally gets to know Dan she increasingly starts to respect his abilities with horses and like him for his natural and unaffected personality.

Real Name: Jannik Schumman (Nicholas)

His Character:
16 year old Nicholas is Emma’s close friend in Hamburg and like her, he’s become an enthusiastic dance student. Friendly and good-natured, Nicholas likes to throw himself into whatever activity he’s engaged in. He makes acquaintances easily and has few hang ups. He’s used to Emma’s opinionated personality and while this might intimidate others, Nicholas actually enjoys her full on approach to life. This is probably why the two have remained such good friends. When Nicholas starts taking more than a passing interest in Jackie, Emma is delighted to see two of her closest friends hit it off so well together.
